Our function space is situated on the first floor (above our boat bays) and features high vaulted ceilings, floor to ceiling windows, and timber flooring opening onto a balcony with a magnificent outlook showcasing the Yarra River and Melbourne cityscape.

VENUE HIRE ENQUIRY

This unique and modern venue can comfortably hold 120 for a seated function and up to 180 for a cocktail/standing event.

The space is perfect for all types of events including corporate meetings, business socials, Christmas parties, birthday celebrations, product launches and weddings.

YYRC also has a Renewable Limited Club Licence, this licence authorises YYRC to supply liquor on our premises to a member or guest of a member for consumption in the licensed Clubrooms.

Location

Situated on the south bank of the Yarra River, opposite Federation Square and the nearby Arts Centre precinct, the venue is less than ten minutes stroll from the city centre.

• Accessibility: Our venue is fully wheelchair accessible, including an accessible toilet, plus accessible lift to the upper level. The lift can also be used to move equipment to the function space.
• Getting here: Flinders Street Train Station, St Kilda Road trams and Flinders Street trams are all within 500m of the venue.
• Parking: Parking is available on Boathouse Drive and around the Southbank/Arts Centre precinct.
• Access hours: Access to the venue is dependent on event start time and can be discussed with the Event Manager.

The bar

The YYRC Liquor Licence covers Monday to Friday 6 pm–12 am and Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays 12 pm–12 am.

A temporary licence may be arranged outside of these hours.

Eftpos facilities (Mastercard & Visa accepted).

Bar staff are costed according to the number of people attending:
    •    Up to 100 guests we recommend 2 bar staff
    •    Over 100 guests we recommend 3 bar staff

Beverages

• Wine: We have a selection of sparkling, red and white wines from Australia and New Zealand, which includes Shiraz, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pino Grigio and Chardonnay.
• Beer: A selection of local and imported beers including Corona, Stella Artois, Cooper’s Green, Crown Lager, Carlton Draught and VB Cascade and a choice of light beers.
• Ciders: Apple and pear ciders are available.
• Non-alcoholic: Lemonade, Coke, Diet Coke, Fanta as well as plain and flavoured mineral water. There may be a slight variation in brands available.

Catering

The YYRC boathouse has a kitchen/servery which is registered with the City of Melbourne as a food receiving area. The kitchen is suitable for reheating and food service but is not a commercial kitchen. No gas appliances are allowed on the site and electrical equipment must be checked, tagged and in date.

YYRC has nominated preferred caterers who are familiar with the management and kitchen area in the facility .

Venue rules

• No loud music after 12:00 am. 
• No loud parties – including 18ths, 21st, etc.
• No smoking throughout the venue – including the balcony.
• No BYO, we're a licensed venue.
